GDG DevFest Coimbatore 2018 — My First experience at DevFest
DevFests are community-led, developer events hosted by GDG chapters around the globe focused on community building and learning about Google’s technologies.
How i know about the DevFest
I saw an YouTube video regarding the MobileDevFest-18 held in Chennai there i came to know about the DevFest and found that an DevFest is going to be held in Coimbatore on November’18.
Registration for the event
I found the GDG Coimbatore Slack channel and then i have joined in the group and waited for the registration link for nearly an month.On 19/10/18 the link popped up in the slack channel and boom registered for the event.
The DevFest Day
Registration
Registration takes place with a smile on every attendees face.It was an simple process where the organizers has splitted the queue based on alphabetical order
Introduction
DevFest was kick started @10.00 A.M by GokulKarthick (Organizer of GDG Coimbatore).He gave an brief intro about the event and what to expect from this event.
Keynote
Keynote for the GDG Devfest’18 was given by Paul Ravichandran. He gave an brief intro about the products of Google as well as about LaunchPad Accelerator and StartUp Ideas.
Chai Time
Once the key note session was over @11.00A.M. we had chai’s with snacks and had a discussion with the attendees who came for the event.
Google AR Core
After chai we had the AR Core Session by Hari Vignesh. He explained the concepts of AR and showed us the demo of Spread Love using AR.He gave a detailed info about AR and it’s uses
Machine Learning
Mohamedsipli has kickstarted the session with lots of examples and codelabs as well as shared some of the best practices to be followed in machine learning
Lunch Time
It was an awesome lunch with funfilled attendees we had a great time in sharing our thoughts with others
Restful API’s
After lunch we planned to take some naps in the upcoming session but Senthil Doraiswamy has cracked the session with full energy.He taught us the basics of API’s their DO’s and Don’ts.
It was such an awesome Session where we enjoyed it fully and took some quick nap’s also :)
Flutter
The man came with full of energy and Fun from Ahmedabad Dhrumil Shah has steal the show with the new way of teaching has explained more about flutter.Rather than flutter we have taught some Tamil words as well as learned some Gujarati words from him
Panel Discussion
Once the sessions has been completed. we had an Q&A session where the speakers has shared their experiences of how they choose their domain as well as some health advice's and some quick fun filled exercises.
We left the DevFest’18 with an PhotoShoot and the swags from Google with hope that we will join together for DevFest’19
Thanks Giving Time
We would like to thank the entire team of GDG Coimbatore for their hardwork for the last 2 months for the event as well as Google for conducting events in Tier2 and Tier3 cities.
