Poop Health with AI

AI is becoming an integral part of our daily lives—from the phones we use, the songs we listen, the food that we eat on, Now it has came to even our bathroom habits! With advancements in health monitoring, AI is now stepping into the world of digestive health.
Throne, an Austin-based health startup, is pioneering a new approach to wellness with a unique AI-powered camera that clips onto the side of your toilet bowl.
Currently in beta, this device captures images of stool and uses artificial intelligence to analyze aspects like gut health, hydration, and more. Throne’s technology offers users an unprecedented glimpse into their digestive health, making daily health monitoring more accessible and personalized than ever before.

Throne refers to its core technology as “Artificial Gut Intelligence a.k.a AGI” an AI trained by physicians to help users decode what their waste reveals about their health. The camera is mercifully trained down at the bowl.
According to the company, doctors have designed the system to identify various health indicators in waste matter, such as subtle changes in urine that can reveal hydration levels. By analyzing these nuanced signals, Throne’s AI offers insights into overall well-being, helping users make informed decisions about their health.
Now you might have a question “What about my Privacy?” So what does Throne is recording and how it uses those images.
The team has shared a privacy page where they have mentioned that they capture only the images of the contents in your toilet bowl. Any other data which is irrelevant are automatically deleted.
And even users can request full access to their data to see what Throne is collecting. All data is encrypted by TLS 1.2 or higher on their company’s servers.
Throne has raised an initial $1.2 million from investors, including Night Capital, Rief Ventures, and Hustle Fund, the company found itself at a crossroads.
Within six weeks they have pivoted to the hardware part focussing on both the aging population and those with chronic digestive conditions, including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and IBS.
Since it is in beta the on-going price for a smart toilet camera is $499, though the company is making it available for $299 if you want to get in on it early.
Ideally they should pay for it since we are generating the data.
